$3,465 USPOULTRY Foundation Student Recruiting Grant Awarded to the University of Delaware

The USPOULTRY Foundation awarded a $3,465 student recruiting grant to the University of Delaware. The University of Delaware’s poultry education recruitment program is designed to provide opportunities for students to learn about the many career opportunities available in the poultry industry and provide guidance and support for students interested in pursuing those careers.

The grant funds will be used to support the Animal Agriculture Careers Seminar series and Northeastern Student Affiliate (NESA) Regional Conference. The Animal Agriculture Careers Seminars feature speakers from a variety of companies representing breeder, broiler and layer operations, as well as poultry equipment and biologics and other allied industries. The NESA conference allows students to demonstrate their poultry and animal science knowledge, as well as present original research on poultry topics.

The USPOULTRY Foundation board approved student recruiting grants totaling $297,580 to 26 colleges and universities across the United States with a Poultry Science Department or industry-related degree program. The USPOULTRY Foundation provides annual recruiting funds to colleges and universities to attract students to their poultry programs. The grants are made possible by gifts to the Foundation from companies, individuals and families, in addition to funds earned over the years at the International Poultry Expo, part of the International Production & Processing Expo.
